У домашних животных хищников – кошек и собак довольно часто встречаются болезни желудочно-кишечного тракта (жкт). Это может быть связано с погрешностями в кормлении. Люди, не учитывая особенностей анатомии и физиологии животных зачастую кормят их по типу своего питания, продуктами «со стола». Болезни жкт могут возникать при кормлении собак и кошек не качественными готовыми сухими кормами или неправильным их применением для кормления. И еще болезни желудочно–кишечного тракта собак и кошек, могут быть спровоцированы инфекциями, паразитами, нарушением обмена веществ, отравлениями.
Признаки болезней желудочно-кишечного тракта хищных домашних животных – рвота, понос, запор, вздутие живота, болезненность брюшной стенки, примесь крови или обильной слизи в кале, изменение цвета кала на нехарактерный, неприятный запах из полости рта, нехарактерное изменение цвета слизистой во рту и наложения на ней, нарушение аппетита, ожирение или прогрессивное исхудание. Стоит помнить, что у хищных животных единоразовая рвота или жидкий стул вполне естественны и за признаки болезни не считаются, такие явления связаны с очисткой желудка, например, от некачественного корма. Любые другие отклонения должны наблюдаться ветеринарным врачом.
Лечение болезней жкт собак и кошек должен проводить исключительно ветеринарный врач, ведь зачастую хозяин не сможет определить природу заболевания животного – инфекция это или следствие неправильного кормления. Для уточнения диагноза ветеринару могут понадобится дополнительные исследования кошек и собак, это анализы крови, а так же мочи и кала, рвотных масс, УЗИ органов брюшной полости, иногда рентген. Так как причины болезней жкт разнообразны, лечение может очень отличатся. При инфекционной или паразитарной природе болезни требуется устранить причину, а затем провести восстановительное лечение. Если причинами болезни жкт животного служит неправильное кормление, иногда достаточно устранить погрешности кормления, чтобы вылечить питомца. Существуют так же хронические болезни, которые требуют пожизненного наблюдения, периодического пролечивания и специальной диеты, например, сахарный диабет, панкреатит, гастрит, язва.
Для предотвращения заболеваний желудочно-кишечного тракта важно своевременно вакцинировать животных от инфекционных болезней и проводить дегельминтизации, а также уделять внимание правильному кормлению животных, согласно их кормовым потребностям. Что касается кормления домашних хищников – кошек и собак, строго запрещено давать животным жареное, соленое, сладкое, копченое, жирное! При кормлении животных мясом и костями нужно избегать трубчатых костей, особенно вареных, это большой риск повреждения кишечника острыми осколками костей и возникновение кровотечения и запоров. Для взрослых собак и кошек достаточно 2х разового кормления, не стоит перекармливать животное и провоцировать ожирение. При кормлении животных сухими кормами, стоит отдать предпочтение специально разработанным кормам с учетом особенностей породы, размера животного, наличия болезней внутренних органов и особенностей обмена веществ, корма нужно давать строго по весу и обязательно с неограниченным доступом к питьевой воде. При кормлении натуральными кормами необходимо в рацион включать мясо и субпродукты, причем это не должна быть исключительно мякоть, очень важно в кормлении хищников использовать субпродукты с хрящами, жилками, которые обеспечивают правильную работу кишечника, так же полезно для здоровья зубов давать кошкам и собакам сырые кости. Так же в рационе должны быть крупы, овощи, кисло-молочные продукты, яйца, рыба и комплексы витаминов и минералов.
